Will d15b7 head fit on d16y8 block?

ok i bought my civic with a d15b7 engine but it threw a rod and now there's a half dollar size hole in the block. There are 2 d16y8 motors at my local junk yard and i was wondering if the d15b7 head will fit on the d16y8 block? I've looked through the internet and haven't found a definitive answer. Also if the head will fit, will d16y8 fit the tranny as well and what other kinda things, if any, would i need to swap?

Why not just put in the y8 motor and tranny?

Im pretty sure it will, check with the vtec. I have a d16 with a d15 and its works just fine

well the head and tranny are still fine and i can get the block for $200 so I want to jus swap blocks for now. both motors are non vtec

i have a b16a2 i'm going to start building but college is coming back around and i just want my civic running for now so i don't have to make the 60 mile round trip in my jeep lol
