04 Civic em2 head gasket repair

Hey first time here , I have 04 em2 d17a1 and has 150,000 on it and am sure has blown head gasket , my question is do I need to resurface the block also I'm allready getting my head resurfaced just don't understand how to head can warp and not the block ??
Any feed back would rele help thnx

The head is much smaller with less material and there for is much more likely to warp. To test for warpage (block and head) use a straight edge and feeler gauge. But General practice is to resurface the head- ensure the valves are sealing well, because when the head warps, it can distort where the valve seals against the head. Oh and don't forget the new gasket and thermostat for good measures.
