    ff4500's 92 EG hatch build

Guess I should update again. Sold the Subaru, so I have some room in the garage to work again. Moved the hatch over to the center spot and took the valve cover off to strip. Of course I dropped a bolt for the ground behind the headlight, so I had to take that out to get at it again. Here's the...

What are you doing / did you do today / CHAT THREAD

Did this a few days ago: Will be sanding it a bit more and cleaning it up to get ready for prime/paint. Fun stuff.

need help ! with b series swap

You've checked your ground wires, right? Check them again. I had a no-start issue awhile back when the main motor ground was loose on the chassis.

    GC coils identification

I'm gonna get these cleaned up and pull my current suspension (GC coils on the front) and compare. I'm wondering if the sleeves that I have pictured here are for the front as well (that are slipped on the back). It's probably easier to buy new sleeves for both than to try to make these work...

    GC coils identification

    K. Got one of the rears apart, the fronts are gonna have the have the bolt cut off, if PB Blaster doesn't work. Front: (definitely a Tokico blue) Rear: No O-rings in sight. Just sitting on the spring perch.

    And yes, '92 EG hatch.

    GC coils identification

I'll have to check when I get home, but I'm betting that there aren't any O rings on it at all. It was just sitting in the spring perch on the stock shock. If I can find my spanner wrenches, I'll take them apart and take better pictures. I may just call tomorrow.

    GC coils identification

Thanks. I'm in a work meeting for the next hour or so, otherwise I would call. Can they identify the sleeves just from the spring numbering?

    GC coils identification

I should also mention that the sleeves on the black shocks move around, like the shocks are too narrow for the sleeves themselves.

    GC coils identification

Just looked up the numbers on the springs, since my curiousity was peaked: Front: 87820 GC200.64.58 http://www.ground-control-store.com/products/description.php/II=778/CA=214 Rear: 145349 GC200.64.67 http://www.ground-control-store.com/products/description.php/II=733/CA=6 So, looks like I...

    GC coils identification

Picked up these GC coils and shocks for cheap last year and just pulled them out of the box to clean up. Figured that I should identify the shock that I need to replace. The rears look like stock shocks and the fronts are maybe Tokico blues? Assuming that the GC sleeves are the ones made for...

    ff4500's 92 EG hatch build

Sold the 16s yesterday. Gonna pick up a new set of 15s this weekend. Once it's a bit warmer, I'll be out in the garage again working on the car to get it back into DD shape.

    FS in NWI - RSL wheels w/tires (4x100 - 16")

I have a set of wheels and tires on my civic that haven't seen use since last summer. Looking to unload them or trade for something different. Wheels are RS Limited (RSL) 16x7 and the tires are brand new Nitto Neo Gen 205/50/16s. Wheel bolt patten is 4x100, which I know will fit most late model...

    ff4500's 92 EG hatch build

Oh, I'll find it. I've gotta do that before I drive it in any kind of conditions at all. It's been a nice weather beater so far. I usually just drive my truck if it's raining anyway. Pretty sure that it's a seal under the cowl, but I'll have to do the garden hose trick to see if I can pinpoint...

    ff4500's 92 EG hatch build

Yeah, I'm not worried about the extra weight at all. The firewall blanket is gone, and that's where most of the weight was in the first place. Besides, it's gonna be a fun car for the occasional autoX and never a full blown racer, where that will even matter. Now, the next question: Dynamatting...

    ff4500's 92 EG hatch build

I've heard of people doing the dry ice method, but if its purely for aesthetic reasons, then does it really matter since it'll have carpet over it. Debating on cleaning up what's there and dynamatting right over it.

    ff4500's 92 EG hatch build

Plans are to get the passenger side leak fixed before I do anything else... Gotta do that before I get the new black carpet put back in. I'm debating if I should put some dynamat type material down before I get much further. Seems like the right time to do that, since it won't take much to get...

    ff4500's 92 EG hatch build

Well, the whole thing wasn't flipped, just the center section and resonator. And yes, welded hangers. I can't believe that someone would install it and NOT notice that it wasn't tucked up into the channel that it's made to go into. Oh well. I wish that I would have taken pictures of the test...
