Well alternator died

This morning I went to start my car and it didn't start so I got a jumpstart. after A few minutes of idle the car made a loud popping sound and smoke came from under both sides of the hood. Engine also seemed to be louder then normal for a short period nothing seems to be leaking no hoses look...

Problem with insurance paying for it is the damage is worth more then the car so It's not worth it. Also the guy who hit me have me false information so this is pretty much my option.

So the other night a nice big Range Rover backed into my poor civic so now I need help taking the inside panel off so I can push the dent out from the inside.

Maybe that's what they are I'm not to sure. I know I could most likely get one at a junk yard and replace it completely (did it with my fender) but that's a little pricey
