yes it will bolt right up with the right mounts, the long block is basically just the motor. He'll need a tranny, i'd suggest a GSR or LS tranny. My buddy has the B20 with a b16 tranny and i think its not a good combo. The B20 wasn't made to rev so high, reving too high = stressed motor. Anyways...

You can go the cheap route and use your stock shocks with a low spring rate lowering spring. The only one i'd suggest is the OE H&R's or Tein S-techs. The springs and alignment should run u at least $200-$300. Whats ur budget?

Is your buddy running the GC/Koni combo? Or just the Koni shocks with springs?

haven't personally tried them but i've heard good reviews, for the money i'd prefer the kuhmo spts or yoko s-drives.

for the money you'll be spending for the full GC/Koni setup w/ extended top hats, i'd rather go with PIC selects or another high end Full coilover. Some i recommend other than PIC are buddy club, FF type 2's, skunk2 pro-c's, and zeal. PIC's FTW though...

GC/Koni, why? Simply because it can be customized to fit everybody's needs.

i'm somewhere around 150k on my y8 and its been really good to me. I push her to her limits and she's still going strong. I even take her up to the canyons a few times as well and shes still holding up good.

why waste money on the sk2 pro-s setup? your paying $500+ for a non adj full coilover. I have first hand experience with the sk2 pro-s setup and your better off going with skunk2 slip over coilovers with tokico illuminas. Sk2/illuminas will out perform the pro-s setup and should be equal to the...

i wouldnt run anything smaller than 14inch HX or steelies rims on the 96-00 civic's. The eg's can get away with the vx rims but i really think you'll lack the cars full handling and braking abilities.

are you using the tein pillow mounts or your stocks?

why such a bad review on sk2 products? I've had experience with almost all of their products and had nothing but good things to say about them. Have you owned a set of the sk2 sport shocks? how about the kyb gr2's? I've had first hand experience with both and i can say the kyb gr-2s do not...

does it sound like it could be the rear brake pads binding on the caliper???
