the mechanic doing the work said the head never came off the engine he's putting in - and the compression didn't change when he did the oil in the cylinders. So does this mean that maybe the valves are stuck open? or maybe the timing really is off - he's just missing something? He also said...

The car is 150 mi from me and I've texted to the mechanic working on the car and he said the head bolts were torqued to "spec". Just for me...what would the oil in the cylinder do?

Had the same problem with 3rd gear - tranny was shot and had to be replaced. Just FYI - Honda's warranty on their rebuilt is way better than their warranty on a brand new one.
