the civic cause they got limited slip out of the factory. well except the driver in the si doesn't know how to drive. it's all in the driver but i'm leaning towards the si, like i said it has lsd stock.

i'd say with driver to driver no idea...but compared stock for stock with a equal driver....rsx-s...05 and up though...210hp stock...the new si pushes out as much as the ITR...though it does have LSD...when it comes down to it its the driver...

Remember the hp ratings on the rsx-s were released before the new ratings came out, which are more restrictive. Under the same ratings they both put out amount the same amount of power.

On a drag strip: RSX.
On a race track: Si.

Either way, it's definitely a driver's race.

what are the advantage and disadvantages of the Si..what are the possibilities of beating the Type-S???

2006 Acura RSX Type-S
3.38 X 3.38 (bore x stroke)
201@7800 (hp @ RPM)
140@7000 (tq @ RPM)
2840 lbs (curb weight)

2006 Honda Civic Si
3.39 X 3.39 (bore x stroke)
197@7800(hp @ RPM)
139@6100 (tq @ RPM)
2877 lbs (curb weight)

Same final drive ratios (4.77).

Why the RSX Type-S would take the drag strip:
-Less weight
-More torque
-More horsepower

Why the Civic Si would take the race track:
-Limited Slip Differential
-Better turning diameter (35.6 for the Si, 38.1 for the RSX)
-Wider tracks (Si vs RSX in inches: 59.0 vs 58.5 front and 60.1 vs 58.5 rear)
-Longer wheelbase (Si vs RSX in inches: 104.3 vs 101.2)

Does anybody else agree with me or am I wrong?

This is more a driver race IMO that includes how much the driver weighs as well

You did great up till this. A shorter wheelbase will create a more flickable car. Long wheelbase = stable short wheelbase = unstable. That's why longer vehicles are better in the snow.

all in all it's all negligible. It's a drivers race.

People keep throwing in their 2 cents and then contradicting themselves by saying it's a drvers race.

it's a drivers racer. end of story. The comparison in factory upgrades are extremely minimal. There would be no way to sit here and figure out what would win.

i'd say go for the 06 Si..What would you wanna buy a used car when you have another option that's less than the price of the used RSX that you were lookin' at?? go with the Si kid...it's brand new plus it has an LSD tranny...and it's alot fun to drive...

I'd go with the RSX and this is why;

-leather trim, and leather seats
-7 speaker Bose sound system
-5 yr 50,000 mile warranty

and those of us that don't have a roll of $1000 bills in our wallet, Acura is doing the 2.9% APR for 36 months, 4.9% APR for 60 months right now. Good luck trying to get that from Honda right now for a new SI.

you really can't compare performance since they are way too close. The only one up here is the LSD for the SI

see i cant decide what i'd rather have, i mean the LSD is a big pull(no pun intended) for the Si, but the leather is a pull for the RSX...both are issues that can easily be dealt with by swapping parts after the fact i think, but as far as from the factory i'd have to go with the Type S

EDIT:
lol sionox got it out while i was typing, but yea, the point is made

the price of that RSX is rediculous. You can buy them brand new for less than that.

are you drunk??? i just had to ask that , those small difference in #'s are NOTHING, its basically this THE BETTER DRIVER WILL WIN plain out, 1 ft lb of torque won't make a difference nor will 4 smeasly lil horses, and if i'm not mistaken wasn't the si puttin out better WHP #'s?? & oh yea leather interior SUCKS ASS!!
