17a2 plug and play replacements.

My vvt solenoid went out drove 8 miles home on a 150 mile old Mobil 1 oil change. Had a valve slam into my number 2 cylinder. What engine can I swap out other than a d17a2? Does a 6th gen work. I know I can b16 it at anytime but it's my work/ teenagers car. Anything would help

The only thing that is plug n play will be another D17a2.

Not legally, the motor can't be older than the vehicle it's going into.
Second, as far as I know, it's a total custom job. You'd need motor mounts, wiring, etc and nobody makes them, for the reason above.
B series is nearly a worthless swap when you can get a K series to drop in.
The 7th gen isn't popular, more or less the bastard generation Civic. It's the Civic generation that got caught in a transitional period between the 6th and 8th.

Depending on your needs/wants/budget, that will determine what motor you should get.
