Okay one of my friends has a 1990-1991 civic DX 5spd hatch (can't remember it's a 4th gen though) According to Club civic's specs section this car has 92hp with 89lbsft. I have personally seen this car and under the hood. It's the stock DX motor, he hasn't swapped anything. It is a 5spd hatch DX. He has claimed 0-60 times of 7 seconds...now I know that even the EX couldn't do that. EX's pull 9.7 according to car stats. To top off his story the car has 200,000+ miles.

The car is 100% stock... he didn't even know it was a 1.5 until I told him.

I have searched all over the intra-web for a 0-60 / 1/4th time for this thing. I can't find one! It's driving me insane...I figured I'd turn to you guys for help

Cliff notes a 100% stock 1990-1 Civic hatch DX 5spd 0-60 or 1/4th times. Mainly 0-60.

What are the facts?

being stock it should be about 13.6 for 0-60, and for the 1/4 it should be 19.3, wow, so lame and slow, lol.

Def. Not

theres not way. i have a 91 Si w/ an I/H/E Stg.2 clutch and a shorty shifter. The best I managed was a 7.9 0-60 LOL and a 16.1@86 quarter mile.

i ran a 5 speed 89 DX once, he maybe got a 1/2 car length on me to 60, my CX did a best 0-60 of 11.5, so the DX is probably not too far off from that.

Yeah the D16a6 compared to the D15b2 is not much faster really, but since it's Mpfi, it has more potential not to mention it has a little bit more trq and hp. But one of my friends has always said, and i have taken on this theory also, that it all really depends on the car And driver, besides alot of other factors also that might be differen't on the car. You could have two Si 89 hatchback's and one run perfectly smooth and the other on the verge of detonation and leaned out, i think we all know who is faster here, until a point!.
