2006 Civic Coupe EX - Oil in Spark Plug Tube

First time posting here. Son's 2006 EX CEL came on - P0302 Cylinder 2 misfire. Pulled the ignition coil from cylinder 2 and found a pool of oil at the bottom of the tube. The rubber end of the coil was loose at the bottom of the tube. So ignition coil certainly bad but what would cause the oil to pool up at the bottom of the spark plug tube?

Noticed after researching this was an issue with the earlier model Civics but not on the 8th generation.

Any help or guidance would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Chances are your spark plug tube seals are leaking, all civics have them (just like on earlier civics). Aftermarket gasket sets can cause premature Failure and oil leakage- or it could just be old age causing the rubber to fail.
Side note : if your original top end gaskets are leaking, its also time for a valve adjust.

faulty gasket, cracked valve cover, or a bad o-ring
