6th gen tachometer problems???s

I recently got a 1998 civic dx in a trade. It didnt have a stock in the cluster so i swapped it out for one that did but the tach doesnt work. It needs a new vehicle speed sensor but i didnt think that had anything to do with the tachometer. Is there a fuse or something i can to see y its not working. Thanks for the help.

check your dizzy. tach should work the clusters are plug and play, the vss only affects the speedometer. if the tach isnt working, or it works but bounces everywhere, it is most likely something in your distributor.

do you have any check engine lights?
