91 hatch b17a1 to buy or not

Hi, Im looking to purchase a 91 Honda civic hatchback with a b17a1 and a "b16" trans.

Body, engine bay, and interior are very nice and clean, almost no rust. He said he is putting in a spare transmission he has before the sale.

Is it worth $4000?

They are from 92-93 integra gsr's. They are pretty rare

$4k for a '91? That is way too high, I dont care how rare the motor is claimed to be. Its still someone's swapped car no matter how you look at it.

Only way I see this as being worth $4k is if the motor is worth $2500 on its own and could be sold. Doubt it though.

The car is clean and rims/engine are fairly rare, but it has transmission problems and needs brake work done, both could be expensive to repair. I would pass on that one, unless the seller comes down on price enough to make it worth while.
