95 Civic - Crank but no start only when warm

Hey all. I'm trying to help my dad with his commuter - 95 Civic with about 250k. Runs great most of the time. I'm a Subaru guy most of the time, so I don't know the unique quirks of this car and motor. Hoping you can help.

Recently it has been having trouble starting sometimes. In the mornings it starts every time, but when the motor is still warm such as after a grocery run or something it will often crank but not start, or have trouble starting. He took it to a mechanic who installed a new distributor and the problem seemed fixed for a short time but is now happening again.

Thoughts on what would cause intermittent no starts only when warm?

To the best of my knowledge yes. I have a cheap OBDII scanner so i'll check it next time im over there just to be sure.

And to be fair, the disty seemed to be on it's way out anyway. There seemed to be a good bit of play in the shaft of it.
