98 civic d16y8 fluctuating idle, exhaust sounds like its backfiring slightly while idling, and odd popping sound

All of that seems to maybe only happen when not in gear, i cant really hear if it happens while moving but the popping noise really scares me, I have no idea what it could be, the rough idle I was thinking was the iacv but the popping I have no ideas
Popping only starts as engine gets warmer, where I live its currently -30 and it started the popping after about 20 minutes of driving, the heat gauge was about 1/4 of the way up
