!996 EK CX with 99 b16a - Cluster wiring harness question

Hi All,

So I started this project 20 years ago, life happened and the car was stored. It is very close to being finished but it's been a long time since I worked on it.

My question is I have a 96 CX that I put a b16a in, the car runs but the cluster doesn't work fully. Do I need to change the cluster wiring harness for a 99-00 SI one?

As I recall you should be able to swap the cluster in just fine as long as you had a manual before hand. I cant remember 100% if you need to change a pinout for milage and tach to work. Ill get back to you on this. But in the meantime, def search the forums as I am quite sure its been covered before.
Ill update with another response as soon as I have an answer.

First real mod: RPM/EX/Tach cluster swap

Pretty excited about my latest mod...tracked down a working EX cluster to put into my DX. And also swapped back in my original odometer to keep my original [low] miles. Can't believe I didn't do this sooner! Best $60 I've spent. Next few days: LED bulbs in cluster and climate control New head...

Check that thread out and let me know. If you are not getting a tach response its probable the cluster is bad. But there are ways to test this
