Ok folks…I have 2011 Civic LX 1.8 liter.
Just replaced the AC compressor and condenser. AC is working fine as far as cooling but when the clutch engages I feel a real strain on the engine. both at idle and while running at highway speeds. With AC off the engine idles great and runs fine at highway speeds. been doing some looking and I did find that the compressor I was sold and installed are not exactly the same. The compressor that came out is a Sanden TRSE07. The new installed compressor is a Sanden TRSE09. Looking on Sandens website they show the power curve for each of these compressors. It shows the original part as using 2.64 kw of power at 1,500 rpm and the new compressor using 3.37 kw of power at 1,500 rpm.
Is that my problem? Is that difference more than my alternator can handle?
