they dont. it does the pretty much the same thing as adjusting ignition timing, except its a lot harder to get right.

You can adjust ignition timing by turning the distributor. Advancing the timing will give you a little bottom end power and retarding it is pretty much for FI or sprayed applications to help prevent detonation. I have my timing advanced on my SOHC and I feel a little kick around 3-3.5k RPM.

:werd:yeah just moving it around to where the spark is released, in addition to the intake, etc....its kinda tuff tho to much and you miss like hell

Just be sure to use at least 91/92 octane after you advance the ignition or you might end up with some detonation. That stuff ain't pretty.
