Hello, I looked at a 2000 civic si today. I would like some expert advice.
1. Branded title from theft in 2004.
2. Guy took the si in trade, knows nothing about it.
3. No stamp on motor. Heads are PR3-3.
4. CEL on from aftermarket exhaust manifold?? It came from an area w/o smog checks.
Any thoughts? I'm leaning towards no.

I should have taken a pic close up.
The area where the stamp should have been is just plain blank. Like they forgot to stamp it. It did not appear to be tampered with.

No stamp can be jdm, take a pic of the head between the exh runners thats the date stamp. Mileage, price, cel code?? Has poly shock tops and bolt dress up kit, might have other suspension mods as well.. depending on these and price might be a good buy.

Thanks for the replies. 180k miles (unknown last timing belt change)
Lowered on unknown coilovers.
He says cel showed o2 sensor.
He's asking 3k, but is willing to take my beater Subaru + cash.

1. Who cares, as long as you are able to register it.
2. That's ok too, look the car over, check for rot and damage. How does it run/idle?
3. Motor should have a stamp on it, it will either say "b16" or b16a2/a3.
b16a2 is what came stock in it. PR-3 head is the correct head for it.

4. Read the code to verify that's the code it is throwing. Get an OEM manifold and 02 sensor and put it back to stock.
5. If you do get it, with that mileage and not knowing, do the water pump and timing belt.
6.Swap out the junk, go back to stock for now just to get it rolling, then GET IT ALIGNED!
7.See #4
8. Yes, take the trade plus cash on your end.

It's a fun car and easy to work on.
