So i found a gsr b17a1 motor for $220 with a spun bearing. It sounds like a great deal right but are there any perks to having this motor? I haven't really seen any mods for this engine and i've never really heard of anyone swapping one into a civic. I would love to get it but i'm kinda scepticle:

I wouldn't say a d17 pulls nasty, just a smidge better than a b16, and everyone knows how fast those aren't. In between a Gsr and B16. They are okay, but not "Naasty".

i have a b17a1 out of a 93 integra fully built in my civic and it a mad motor with mad vtec well worth the 220 buckets with the spun bearing buy it

+1 for the b17a! my brother has one in his white cx, has the originally cable tranny with it also it's a nice motor.
