Bad throw out bearing?

When running or not, will not go in to any forward gear, 1-5. When running, grinds when attempting to go into reverse, will not go in. 1989 Civic DX HB 5Spd. 268k miles? At least 5th owner. Previous owners used and abused the car. Throw out bearing? Bad clutch?

No alerts of any kind. Changed fluid last year, put about 30 miles on it.

Can you feel engagement of the gears when you shift through the transmission?
Sounds as if the shift fork has broken. There are 3 shift forks in the transmission and if one is broken, nothing will shift properly and will grind.

It only grinds when I try to go into reverse. No noise other than engine noise when I try to go into any other gear

Def sounds like a broken shift fork. Especially if you do not feel any engagement or you are not able to get the shifter into any forward gear. Really wont know 100% until you pull that trans and remove the case.

This is assuming there is nothing wrong with the shifter cables for your old EF.
