earlier today i helped one of my friend put on his rear bumper for his 92 civic hb. After removing the original plastic bumper he took of the steel part of the bumper (i think i was part of the frame im not sure) but he said that it need to come off. i told his that i dont think that safe cuz if he gets hit the car will be gone. do you have to take off that part of the bumper? if you have to are there some kit that will fit around your bumper?

yes, if he is hit, the car will be squished...... no, you shouldn't have to remove that part to install an oem bumper, though some bodykits require that piece to be removed... some cheap shitty bodykits, that is........
