Can't shift transmission into 4th gear

i have a manual transmission...about two days ago i took my civic for a drive and noticed that i couldnt shift into fourth....sometimes it works and shifts into gear but most of the time i cant get it in...what is my prob?

syncros? you'll need to get your tranny repaired.

Unless you can do transmission work, consider buying a replacement transmission.

A less expensive option would be to purchase a used transmission that is in good working order.

Have you ever disassembled and reassembled a manual transmission?

For example, have a look at this:

fixed it with some transmission fluid...shifts like butter now
