city lights question

Hi I just bought a set of Canadian sir headlights for my 96 hx and I'm curious how they work? Do they use a switch or what. I have searched and people say to wire them to the parking lights but are they supposed to stay on even when your headlights are on

So do the city lights stay on even when you turn on the headlights.Im thinking I want to install a switch to turn them on and off

Yes they stay on with headlights. You could wire it to a switch but I think you need a relay at that point. Most people tap into their turn signal power wire.

Your parking lights stay on when you turn on the headlights...

...... I know that. I'm going to look around online on how to make a circuit that shuts off when you turn on the headlights. Kinda like some Oem foglights how they shut off when you on the brights
