ok so i have to change my cv boots and i had a cuple of questions.

1 my axle nut is pretty stuck on there it there any tool to take it off or do i just use a huge braker bar?

2 what is the correct tork to tighten the nut down ?

3 should i buy new axle nuts or should i just use the old ones ?


any info is great so if you have any thanks.

1. Use a big breaker bar or strong impact gun, it'll come off.
2. Tight.
3. Using the old ones will be fine.

i have not started yet what little notches do i have to match up ? are you talking about the notch on the axle and on the nut that lock it into place.

Yea, the nut is staked to the axle. Use a punch and a hammer to straighten that stake out. If you're getting new axles, they will come with new nuts. The proper torque is 134 lbft.

get a 32 metric socket, a 1/2 inch or bigger wrench, and a nice long steel pipe, and stand on it and maybe jump on it too.

get new axles for like 70 bones a peice and just swap those. You will be much happier and it will be a while before you have to worry about this. Axles are quick.
