I recently replaced my head gasket and since doing so my engine revs itself as soon as it starts. It revs out to 5k rpm about 4 times than drops to about 3500 and stays there. In drive the car is at about 2750 rpm and doesnt go down. The throttle cable doesnt move when the car revs itself. I had to remove the intake manifold to pull off the head. I havent found any vacum leaks. I also removed the distributor and wasnt sure of the order on the wiring but figured that if the car started and ran like it did that the distributor is alright. I have a video if anyone is interested in seeing.
