Door Swap 90-91 Doors To 88-89

Can you swap the 90-91 Hatch Doors to an 89? Understand the issues with the belt, "seems" pretty straightforward on that front--remove them. The question becomes--what other mods have to be done to adapt the newer doors to the older model 88-89 cars? Will the 88-89 door panels fit up without issue? Anything else to watch out for? 88-89 moldings fit up?

Door panels will fit, and moldings will swap over.
Doors will NOT directly swap.
The contour of the door jam is different between cars.

Thanks for the quick response. Kinda figured it wouldn't be that simple. Just seems like there are a fair number of later doors around which are rust free, would have been an easy fix for my 89 door woes. Regards, Dave.
