Friend recently got one of these

& wants to put it in his EK3. Was wondering if anyone has done this & what needs to be done or if it could even be done at all?

this is what he has now (if it makes a difference)

Thanks.

idk, but can I buy the old wheel?

haha.

The wheel is a direct bolt on. You just need the tools and the help of a DIY. be sure you disable all the electronic connections to the SRS system so you don't kill yourself with the airbag.

It won't fit well, sell it to me!!

Sorry, it is a direct bolt on. Seeing as your current steering wheel is off it shouldn't be difficult to figure out how to slide the new one on. Just make sure when you park and pull the old wheel off it's aligned straight so it's easy to get the new one back on straight. You'll have to lock the column (turn the wheel to the right a bit to lock) to crank off the bolt holding the wheel on too. After that bolt is off give the shaft a whack with a rubber mallet and pull on the old wheel to get it off. Now slide the EK9 wheel on!

As it turned out it was a DC2 not EK9 wheel. That makes things a little more complicated. Is this swap still possible though?

That shouldn't change anything.
