i just got my maximum hid projectors to retro into the fit, however my question is there a up or down on these, since they have a block plate for the bulb covering half the housing, so which way would i mount that s**t.

Up for down as in...?? so you purchased Maxima E55 BiXenon projectors and got them retroed in the Honda Fit's housing? If the FIT's reflectors are similar if not same as Civic's you'll just need to mess with 3 12mm bolts that are attached... If you can provide me with pictures i can better help you.

it sounds like half of the bulb housing is blocked off so he is wondering if the open half goes on top or bottom

that is correct sir, and i got it figured out.
These aren't for bi-xenon bulbs either, these projector housing use a shutter to simulate high and low beam, sorta wierd, but different.

There isn't such thing as "bi-xenon bulbs" whatever you purchase or H4 aftermarket HID kit has high and low beam halogen, or mechanism that moves the shield.

Bi = two , xenon = the light; so your projector using it's shutter to have cut off for low beam, and removing teh shutter down which consist of high beam. Hence forth bi-xenon

i retroed E55 Bi-Xenon Maximas into an Accord... very nice color, if you bend the shield a little bit you'll get nice blue cut off
