96-98 Civic Amber climate control

bulb part # is 79609-S02-A11 Neo wedge bulb
They are from a 99-00 Si . They are about $5.00 / bulb
you only need 2 of them.
This is a niice little detail that everyone will notice.

OK, so you wanna have amber lights in your 96-98 Civic A/C panel control.
Let's start off by removing the panels necessary to get the A/C control unit out. First remove the panel that is underneath the steering column. Then remove the panel in the center section under the radio,(the one that has the 12V outlet) These two panels are pretty straight forward in the removing process.
Next, you are going to remove the "HAZARD & DEFROST" panels. You are going to need a small flat object to pry these out. They MUST be removed from the front. It should look like this

Now that the top is going to be loose , we need to remove 3 screws that are on the bottom side of the panel (they should be goldish shiny screws) there is 1 in the middle and the other 2 are going to be on each side. Now that everything is loose on the panel your going to need to unplug the whole thing from the harness. The heater has a wire that is going towards the fire wall. You need to remove this wire near the fire wall where it slides into a small pin that is holding it in place.
So far so good: By now you should have the whole panel including the heater wire attached to the back. You are going to see 2 bulb sockets with 2 wires going into each, gently pull each of them out. Now that you have the socket out again very gently pull the bulb out of the socket. (X2)
The next step is going to be done with lots of patience. You are going to remove the blue condom from the original bulb, And do the same for the 99-00 Si amber bulb as well. (this is done with your finger tips and slowly rotating the condom slightly to each side until it comes off, DO NOT !! use any type of pliers or tools cause you could easily rip the condom and light will shine through)
Now we are going to reverse this step by sliding the amber condom over the original bulb like this

Now gently install the bulbs back into the sockets and reverse the entire procedure and enjoy your new amber interior.
If you run into any problems just PM me and I'll walk you through it.
Your Final results should look like this
