When you polish a wheel you take off all the protective coating off. This leaves it vulnerable to all the elements and stains.. Every couple of weeks you will see that the polishe rim will start to loose its shine and you may even see stains (worse case surface rust)

To manage this i use 3m Rubbing Compound. It is 1500 grit in a bottle.

It works good enough for me

All you have to do is clean the wheel with some regular soap. The rub on the compound.. then wipe it off. It will remove all the stains and junk on the wheel. Apply mothers polish again if your dissatisfied with the shine. I wasnt though

enjoy =)
