Finally getting around to updates.

I figured out the pulsing feeling problem not long ago. The clutch just needed to be adjusted at the pedal. Now that the shifting is smooth, the car feels great to drive. I'll be picking up the s/c around the holidays and will be getting forged internals with the sale of the s/c.

Decided to put my nitrous kit in the car until I get the s/c. My brother is going to let some forged pistons and rods go with the s/c when I buy it from him so I will just build my old LS block with the forged parts and s/c that so I can make some nice power. The nitrous is only a 70 dry shot. Going to wire it into the S300 so that it can trigger the solenoid. All I really have to get are a few little bits and wire up the switches. I installed the bottle, lines, and nozzle over the weekend.

Also had to change a fog light bulb and it was sort of a pain the way that it's wired. Basically the H3 wire is attached to the bulb housing and you have to depin the plug and all that jazz to change a single like. I add a small segment of wire with a female spade connector to it so that I can simple unhook the bulb next time I have to change them. Not sure if the OEM lights are like that or not but the aftermarket units seem to be.

I also got tired of looking for a ITR/CTR shift knob in good shape. Couldn't find one so I just got the skunk2 knob and I couldn't be happier with hit. Has a nice weight and helps shifts a great bit.

More to come after I get it going.

Alright alright alriiiight!!!!!! I have a few updates to share. I need to get this build thread updated.

Ok so first things first. I finally got around to purchasing the s/c kit for the engine. My brother also included all the honda parts he had left b/c he is officially out of the game. So for $1000 I got a pretty good lot of parts.

B16/ITR s/c kit with upgraded pulley with a B20 crank pulley.
GSR cams
SKunk2 Adjustable Cam Gears
AEM boost gauge
SRP forged pistons 81.5mm
Eagle LS rods
GSR throttle body
GSR throttle body cable
Golden Eagle sandwich plate

I also picked up like the last pair of Nitto 555R in a 205/55/R14 for my HX wheels. Some nice sleeper street wheels. I'm going to get some MT ET streets for the other 2 HX wheels.

Picked up a CRV 5 speed gauge cluster for $100 and put a carbon fiber overlay bezel.

16833261_735188492112_958869160_o.jpg

Then I did some test fitting on my spare motor to make sure that I had all the parts I needed.

I'm sending the s/c to LHT in Tampa to get their complete package deal to work the s/c. I live in New Orleans and it gets hot and humid 90% of the year. I have a spare LS block that I'm going to put the pistons and rods in and then put my ITR head on it with the s/c. Then I have have the Poor man ITR motor as a spare in case something goes wrong on both cars.

I also picked up a ITR 4.4 transmission from a friend and that will also make it's way on to the car really soon and I will put the stage 3 clutch back on since I have everything working right.

Thanks you! Should be a very fun daily. If I can break this thing into the 11's for a daily I would be plenty happy.

Thanks! Just trying to keep the build interesting. IFO is coming up March 12th and I want to make a pass on the nitrous plus itr trans and see what I can muster out. A friend has 24.5" slicks he would let me use them for the day but I want to see what I can do on the radials first.

Thanks and glad you guys are following.

I plan on really tuning the motor n/a soon and then again after the s/c install. I will keep the thread updated as I go through the tuning process as well.

I have a few decision to make.

Decision 1

Option 1 - rebuild the LS/VTEC I pulled out of my turbo integra and use the SRP pistons and eagle rods I got with the s/c purchase to have a built block. Have the Poor man ITR motor as a spare. This will give me the least amount of downtime while I wait for the s/c to get reworked.

Option 2 - s/c the Poor man type R motor and rebuilt the LS/VTEC for use later if something happens to the ITR motor.

Decision 2

Starting to really think about using E85 but would need to get larger injection but the fuel pump will be fine. I would just get a flexfuel sensor and wire it into my S300.

Took some time today to try my hand at some vinyl on some interior trim parts. I think they came out pretty good. I know where I could have done batter but I'm happy with the results. So far I did the center and the vents on either side.

Ok next modification was to the stock headlights. Seems that retrofitting headlights with projectors is pretty straightforward for us so I decided to finish up this project.

I ordered a 55w HID conversion kit and also a projector retrofit kit. Awesome kit with a fair price. Will give you a quality look for a cheap price. I think I paid $150 total. I'm going to bring the headlights to my friend who will source up the lenses for me. He just did some integra lights so he had all the supplies. I did some transmission work for him for free so he's hooking me up. Anyways on to the pics.

Going to install the ITR transmission this week and possibly hit the track. S/c is going on soon. I just have to find the time. I've been getting the integra race car together lately. Trying to have it done for IFO this Nov.

Finally got another update for you guys. I know it's been a little while but the Integra is trying to take over with mods.

I was on the fence about building a forged block or just s/c my current motor. I said F it and went for the install. I will just build a B20 block for it later on and send the s/c to LHT at the same time. I have to get the Integra finished before I get to that though.

So, I got some beer from the store and went at it after work on Friday and had the s/c installed by Saturday night. Had to do a little troubleshooting to get things right. Biggest part to not miss is to rotate the oil cooler and reroute a few coolant and extend the fuel return line.

Overall the install went really smooth. I installed the alternator and brackets. Then, the B20 crank pulley. Got all the accessory belts out of the way. Then installed the pulley bracket and finally the blower. It was a learning curve to figure out the best way to get the blower/manifold in the engine bay. From my recent experience, the easiest way is to drop the s/c in and let it sit down low on the coolant lines below. Then get the manifold in the right spot and install the manifold to the head. If you try to put it in whole, you can't tighten down the manifold flange at all. No access. Ask me how I know lol.

So I got everything installed and refilled fluids. Uploaded a base map (changed to the 440cc injectors it came with) and cranked her up. My hope was to not have a coolant leak or vacuum leak but I ended up with both. Fortunately, the coolant leak was a torn small hose at the TB and a clamp not pulled into place. The vacuum leak had me stumped as well. I could put my hand over the throttle body and the engine still ran fine. This told me the leak was pretty large. After looking around I realized i missed the PCV hose and the fitting was right passe the throttle body on the bottom of the blower. Easy to miss. Connected the hose and it now idles at 800 all day.

Next problem was that I was seeing boost on my boost gauge but the ECU wasn't seeing it for some reason it was only seeing vacuum. This had me puzzled for a little while. At the same time it was hitting boost I was hearing pinging noises from the engine bay that sounded absolutely like detonation with out a doubt in my mind. That is when it clicked in my head that the ECU is not seeing boost b/c I was using the stock map sensor in the stock location on the TB top. This area never sees boots b/c it is before the blower. My mind was stuck on a turbo system. Plus this combo came from mt brothers CRX which has a remote MAP on the firewall so he never ran into this problem. I ended up getting a spare from a old TB I had and put a hose after the blower and connected it to the engine harness leaving the stock one on the TB to keep it sealed. After all that I was able to finally hit boost and dial in the fuel. It felt great......

But not to great. I felt like it had more to unleash. So I then took a look at the TPS and noted it was only seeing 70% throttle with the pedal to the metal. I came to find that the throttle plate was not opening all the way. Talked to my brother and he said to use the GSR TB and cable he gave me and it should work. He ran into the same problem with ITR setup. I feel it has a lot more power to be made with it. Plus I was only seeing 6-7psi I think b/c the lake of air. I should see 10psi with this pulley setup.

I have yet to fix that part but plan on it this week. Just need to get an hour to do it. Otherwise it feels really cool. Just like a nicely built all motor setup. Here are a few pics.

Decided to take another look on the market for a JDM CTR steering wheel and I finally found one. Scooped it up for $300 shipped on ebay. Offered $265 and it was accepted with $35 shipping. Can't wait to get this in my car. I have the same wheel in my integra and I love the feel and the look.
