Billy, or any other Charleston locals...I am planning a vacation and have been looking into quite a few places to go, pretty sure we are going to be staying at the Vendue, but also been looking for other places to see and some spots for dinner...if you have any recomendations for alternate places or do not suggest these let me know...

Budget is about $2000 for the trip, going down for three nights and four days...

I don't have to spend that much obviously, but when I go on vacation, expense isn't really something I am worried about...

Here is the list so far...

Places to Stay:
Vendue Inn

Things to Do:
Morris Island Lighthouse
Calhoun Mansion
Drayton Hall
USS Yorktown
Aiken-Rhett House
Charleston Water Taxi
Charleston Cooks! Maverick Kitchen Store
Aquarium
Market

Places to Eat:
Magnolias
Slightly North of Broad
Toast (Breakfast)
Circa 1886
Five Loaves Cafe (Lunch)
Gaulart & Maliclet French Cafe (Lunch)
Peninsula Grill

i made a couple edits, but overall you had a good list. and actually, i would recommend staying at more than 1 hotel. it's kinda a pain, but well worth it when you get to experience a couple different ones in one trip. when do you plan on coming?

Here is the list so far...

Places to Stay:
Vendue Inn or Charleston Place Hotel (inside the Omni) or Middleton Inn

Things to Do:
Morris Island Lighthouse (you'll need a boat for this, so i suggest rather walking to the north end of Folly Beach passed the old coast guard base)
Calhoun Mansion
Middleton Gardens
USS Yorktown & Fort Sumter tour
Aiken-Rhett House
Charleston Water Taxi
Charleston Cooks! Maverick Kitchen Store
Aquarium
Market
Charleston Ghost Tour or Jail Tour (must do after dark!)

Places to Eat:
Magnolias or Blossoms
Slightly North of Broad
Toast (Breakfast)
Circa 1886
Five Loaves Cafe (Lunch)
Gaulart & Maliclet French Cafe (Lunch)
Peninsula Grill
California Dreaming
Market Pavilion Hotel Rooftop Bar
Queen Anne's Revenge (Daniel Island)
Fat Hen (Johns Island)

I haven't had time to check the other hotels, but the reason I liked the Vendue was so we could bring the dog and not worry about getting someone to take care of it...

Billy, quick question, with the USS Yorktown and Fort Sumter, are these both next to each other???

Is this the same thing as the Patriots Point thing or something different...
