Offset Wheels?

smartass, a 40 offset is going to set the outer lip of the wheel about even with the top of the wheel well. Thats what I have and thats why I can't lower my car farther, because the wheel well would be sitting on my tire. I want to go lower and I can't because if I hit a bump that way, I would probably rub it out on the wheelwell
offset is how deep inwards the rims is......
EXAMPLE:
this rim (the rota gt3) comes with a 40mm offset. so from the beginning of the polished lip to the colored middle.....it is 40mm.
