Overheating, fan not working

Hi. I have a 95 DX Hatchback. I'm pretty sure the fan does not come on. If it does, I've never seen nor heard it. I've tested the fan by jumping the plug that goes into the coolant temp sensor and it works fine. I've replaced the coolant temperature sensor as well. I tested the one that I took out and it works. Because of the overheating issue, I blew my head gasket but have fixed that temporarily. With the blown head gasket, I initially thought that the air in the lines was giving a false temp reading. I've bled the air, as far as I know, out of the lines. I just started driving the car again after letting it sit for months. Now that I've put in the new coolant temp sensor/switch, the inside temp gauge isn't working at all. Any suggestions on what could be causing the fan to not come on and my temp gauge not working?

Thanks
