I don’t know much about cars. I’m 19 and I’m planning to buy a civic si 2000 ex coupe 2D. From what I know, civics last for a fat minute. But do civics still last for a while even though the engine was replaced?

Depends on the engine that was put in and it’s condition

If it was replaced with the same engine, but with low miles, then it would probably last a while. If it had an engine swap done to it, (a different type of engine put in than what was from factory) then I would stay away. If you don't know much about cars, then I wouldn't get a car that has had modifications done. It will just add to the complexity of your car troubles.

What are you planning on buying, the Civic Si or Ex?

Ask yourself this, why wouldn't it last for awhile with the engine replaced?
Of course this question is awfully dependent on other factors such as condition of replacement motor and over all condition of the car body wise and transmission/suspension wise.

It's all dependent how well the car was taken care of.
