ok guys the door cannot be opened from inside or outside.
I removed the inside door panel from the car and was manipulating the rods without any sucess.
how can i open the door now?
i pull on the lever from inside and nothing, i push down on the lever for the outside handle and nothing.
is there any tricks to pop the door open?
would removing the fender to acess the door hinges do anything?

it is a two door coupe so having one door inoperative is not an option.

I don't know how you can open the door. But I DO know that you won't accomplish anything, by taking off the fender. You don't wanna have to try and align that fender. Not to mention messing with those hinges. That'll just make a bad situation worse. It sounds like some kinda linkage, or cable in the door has come off. You'll need to find out what's come loose.

To get inside you can crawl in from the trunk and pull the latches for the seats.

Take a photo of what you're working with now, you probably have the car locks engaged at the moment and need to disengage them for the door rods to work.

If you searched first, this guy made a thread on "Civic door won't open from inside or outside FIX (no drilling)"

otherwise, refer to this video and photo

thanks for the info, after reading the information I realized the little piece that others posted was broken.
hopefully it will not get too cold tonight so I can remove the black latch protector and open that damn latch.
also would civic four door latch work? got some civic four doors laying around and probably cannabalize them to repair the EX.

update
removed the door panel off from closed door, and taken many pictures. need to remove the 10mm bolt that holds the window track and move it away so you can remove the black plastic cover. once this cover is off then you can open the door. i follow the youtube and made a hook but it would not work with me. so i used the coat hanger other end and made a 40 degree angle and used that to pop it open.
once the door was open then replacing the hinge was easy as 1, 2 and 3.

that is what you see once you get the door panel off. you need to move the track and black plastic cover.

10mm bolt removed

window track out of the way

door popped open

failed latch assembly

guess which one failed?

good used latch

door panel back on after testing all is good to go now

That's good news! Thanks for the update, and the how to, on the fix. Too many people just leave us hangin. Makes searches a time consuming b***h. As you've probly found out! So did the four door hardware fit?

yes the front passenger side on the 4 door is the same as the front passenger side on the 2 door coupe.
