Video of my FRS chasing down a Porsche

This is my first RWD car and only second time at the track. The guy talking was my instructor. I got the ok after this session to do solo racing and will be receiving my CSCC novice racing license soon. Then after some official races bump up. Anywho this is a video of me racing a Porsche in my FRS.

Prep for the car, all fluid good, oil change, sub removed and tire pressure set to 34hot up front and 35hot in the rear. I didn't gut the spare or back seats. The car has no power mods installed year and is still on stock suspension, brake pads and the stock soft tires.

Only mods to the car besides lighting and audio at the time of this video are APR CF front splitter and TRD door stabilizers. I do have plenty of mods that ill be installing soon including borla header, rear diffusor, eibach sport lines, mishimoto oil cooler and thermostat. Also got a brake pad sponsor so those will get upgraded plus stainless steal lines.

I took down a 91 944 too but I was recording on my iPhone. It ran out of space right after this lap lol. There was a 2000 twin turbo 911 like my grandpas old one. Running slicks and all. Like 3 laps after this I was fallowing him and he blew a turn. Went way to hot and got to go Rally in the grass for it lol. Guy was good though. Him and one FRS with a bunch of goodies were the only 2 to pass me. His upgraded tires made such a difference. I rode with him for a few laps and he can push it way harder on the tighter turns where my tires squeal his are still fully planted.

Either way not bad for a car with 200hp to the flywheel and soft tires.

Thanks guys. I've still been reading the forums here and there. Sadly with Oregon weather it's about the end of trak season this year so I'm gonna get all the basics taken care of like track rims and tires ect and install my pile of parts in the garage lol. Come January though I'm prepping to hit the next season hard. Every track day I can.

Ha, I hit 108 on the front straight on avg. I'm stating with weight reduction, cooling and cutting in sprung weight. By summer I should have a CF drive shaft, light weight pullys, light weight rims, and either light weight brakes or BBks up front. That plus a good set of track only tires and a shorter final drive will be a huge improvment. Once I get the header in that will smoothe out my torque band too.

Right!?after Him and the 944 I was like holy balls, I'm channelling ken gushi or Fredrick asbo lol. The twin turbo 911 sure put me back in line though. It was like having big brother come in and settle the fight between me and his little brother lol.

Nice FRS btw, looks good. Ive been wanting to get one and build it up but I have so many things going on that im just going to knock those out first. Looking forward to a good build.
