Weird grinding noise starting in 1st going in to 2nd gear.

So I noticed when I start from a complete stop, I put the car in first, let the clutch out to just before the catch point then I add gas and let the clutch out to the catch point like normal. My problem is for some reason, once I add gas while releasing the clutch, I hear this weird grinding noise. It's not the gears because I make sure I completely shift into all gears. It almost sounds like the clutch is rubbing really hard against the flywheel even though the car is moving. The grinding nose usually stays until I hit about 20mph and it can be heard even after I shift in to 2nd. Any help in diagnosing this issue is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Sorry but a sound needs to be diagnosed by HEARING it. This could be a whole number of things. Going to have to give deeper explanation info or have someone near you ride with you to narrow it down more. There isnt much we can do but throw a bunch of guesses against the wall.

Is the sound there with the car idling?
