I would say just time and really bad luck. Probably happening and didn't know it. Probably started as a pop here and a pop there but you didn't notice it. Over time and use, the teeth slowly started to slip until there weren't any teeth left.

I would say that the window was having a hard time going up for some time and wore out the teeth on the gear and the motor gear. Too bad they can't just replace just the gears and salvage the motor.

Now that I think about it mine pops once in a while. Time for a tear down.

dude my window is just like that and it pisses me off but im ordering regulator from honda this week... yeah but chipped teeth was my problem
