Y7 crank in a y5?

My y5 spit the crank pulley on the P.O which is why I got it for free. But I was able to put a pulley on with woodruff key and main bolt. Now the crank in my y5 is toast because the end of it was chipped and the threads inside for the main bolt were messed up so the current pulley and bolt won't be coming off easily or going back on ever. There's a guy in town with a y7 that has a bad headgasket.

Can I rebuild the y7 and use my y5 head?
Or
Rebuild the y5 using the y7 crank?

Just needing to know if either will work because I'd like to fix this crank issue before it becomes a car bound for the salvage yard. I can't seem to find y5 parts in my area only the y7

I was told it smoked like a freight train. So I'm assuming the rings and valve seals are gone, and I'm only getting block and head no wiring or ecu.

My heads good with vetch-e for economy. I planned on having the valves lapped with new seals top to bottom when I replace the crank, bearings and pistons in the block.
