^^^^ seriously, Ive been to haiti, and its a wonderful place. people are looting things they dont need because theres no stable monetary system in haiti, so if you can trade that beach ball for an egg, take it. people who have nothing to begin with, lose all of their nothing, and f**king Americans want to sit here and pretend its not happening right here in our corner of the world. People are saying we cant afford to help. f**k them. do you know how far a 1000 dollars goes in Haiti. Tou could live like a king for a year on a grand.

When people are in need, they resort to drastic measures in order to survive and best provide for their families. Survival of the fittest is almost always enacted when the resources are scarce.

When people are in need, they resort to drastic measures in order to survive and best provide for their families. Survival of the fittest is almost always enacted when the resources are scarce.

When people started killing each other over s**t they didn't need to survive, but looting just for the sake of looting, I would leave them. New Orleans as well. People wanted to be stubborn and see if they could ride it out, we gave them warning to get out, we even provided transportation out of there and they didn't take it but as soon as it hit, they were crying that no one was helping them.

Your country is in ruins, yet people there are going around with machetes and attacking and killing for stuff they don't need. People are putting dead bodies on streets as a protest, letting them rot, not giving the body a grave. This is why Haiti is such a poor country and why it will ALWAYS be a poor country.

I rarely agree with you...but in this case we see eye to eye. If anything we should raise money and slowly give it to them (like an allowance). The entire population is uneducated and wouldn't know what to do with money if they had it. Some would go about providing for their families etc, but many would abuse it. As a nation we are already struggling to support ourselves, it is not the time to play global humanitarian. Who will be tracking the money that is sent over? How will it be distributed? Since 2000, the U.S has sent $16,204,000 in aid to Haiti (SOURCE: U.S. Agency for International Development), was the country better off? Can you see the positive impact that 16 million dollars had? I definitely see both sides to this story, there is no satisfaction in hardship...but now is the worst time to be spending cash

Absolutely, Haiti is the poorest country in the world with relatively no infrastructure, no road system, no sewage, 80% of the country is considered to be living in poverty. WHAT ARE WE REBUILDING? We are putting the lives of soldiers in danger, this country has no organization and each day we see the inhabitants continue to ruin their own country. There is no point in "lending" money to Haiti because they will never pay it back...that would be impossible. We could dump 100 billion into Haiti but because of the lack of education, the country would be no better...the population lacks the intelligence to build human capital. The amount of crime in Haiti makes me wonder how many aid dollars will actually reach those who need it...just like many third world countries, drugs are king

Colombian cartels are now using Haiti as a place to store and ship drugs from.
