Oil Filter testing site and Larger oil filter option?

The filter would have more "filter surface area" and a small increase in engine oil capacity.

Oil Filter testing site and Larger oil filter option?

Here is an oil filter testing site that seems to have good information. http://www.knizefamily.net/minimopar/oilfilters/index.html Larger Filter Option: Is anyone using an over-size oil filter? (Not a remote oil filter system) It looks like a longer oil filter will fit in the space provided...

LX to EX Exhaust, O2 sensor tricks, still throws codes

The exhaust is doing fine now. I will take pics next time I have it on the hoist. I had to get a flex extension installed so I could tighten the bolts by the header more. now the exhaust flex's AFTER the o2 sensor instead of on the header.

LX to EX Exhaust, O2 sensor tricks, still throws codes

Hoisted the car and found two of the four wires on the 2nd O2 sensor were rubbed completely away. The shifter arm rubbed them out. I had to actually use a standard bolt/nut on the opposing side of the header to move the exhaust away from the shifting arm. (NOTE: I did have the O2 sensors plugged...

LX to EX Exhaust, O2 sensor tricks, still throws codes

Isn't the Primary o2 connecter closest to the header/manifold? and the Secondary o2 connecter closest to the distributor cap?

LX to EX Exhaust, O2 sensor tricks, still throws codes

ARGH! Did I mention ARGH! 98 LX, changed to complete legal EX exhaust. Header, magnaflow cat, Tanabe cat back system. I've been throwing O2 sensor codes since the swap 6 months ago. Started at 400-600 miles a code would be thrown. Usually a "low voltage, high voltage or no voltage"...

Catalytic converter - Help PLEASE ?

I have a 98 LX and I switched to an entire EX exhaust system. Edelbrock headers (for EX) Magna Flow Catalytic Converter (For EX) Tanabe Cat-back Concept G exhaust system (For EX) It's actually a pretty easy exhaust to put together. Check out summitracing.com for much cheaper alternatives to...

    Tanabe vs greedy

I just went through a similar situation with my 98 LX. I first bought DNX mid pipe and flowmaster exhaust. that was so loud and obnoxious it went back the same week I installed it. I ended up with the Tanabe Concept G. This system requires no removeable silencer for under 93db operation at...

rough idle, poor mpg, distributor cap loose...

I, for the second time, have found my distributor cap loose. It's on tight, but not "tight enough". I track my MPG and any mods I do. I noticed my MPG slipping and the idle getting rougher. (This was over 14 months time, 22,000 miles and Minnesota climate change.... so it's sometimes hard to...

A/C cabin filter install for 96-00 civic! Easy install

I looked at the CRV walk through, it is, from what I could tell, the same as the civic. If you found anything different I think it wouldn't make any difference. They are extremely similar. No reason to replicate the same thing.

A/C cabin filter install for 96-00 civic! Easy install

The only increase you'll see in air flow is if you clean the filter chamber out of debris and dirt and clean the evaporator/radiator out if it's dirty. ANY filter will actually reduce flow somewhat. but you're better off having to change filters than clog the fins in the radiator/evaporator...

A/C cabin filter install for 96-00 civic! Easy install

I just completed this mod. on my 98 civic. it took about 75 minutes, but some of that was just cleaning the radiator/evaporator inside. it looked like a squirrels nest. I used a nylon brush and a shop vac with those small angled brush attachments. I used a napa filter and put some foam strips...

lights dim when defrost is on and AC kicks in.

It doesn't seem to matter the speed I'm driving. AC kicks in lights go dim and stay dim until the AC kicks back out. even with no other accessories in use.

lights dim when defrost is on and AC kicks in.

Do they stay dim the entire time that the circuit to the compressor clutch is engaged? YES this is what happens. and if using the window(s) multiplies it that much worse. Perhaps it is a weak alternator. it has 93,000 miles I've owned it since 68,000 I never noticed it much till I started...

lights dim when defrost is on and AC kicks in.

I have a pioneer CD player and upgraded speakers is all. no amps or anything like that. This only happens when I have the AC defrost on and fan on full blast (#4) Thanks for the replies. I will have to look for a capacitor or something.

lights dim when defrost is on and AC kicks in.

I have a 98 LX 4 Door. The headlights and dash lights dim slightly when I'm driving with the defrost on and when the AC kicks in. when the AC kicks out the lights go back to normal. So this gets quite annoying really quick. I have a new battery I've cleaned the battery...

1998 Cat-in-the-Manifold LX to EX header and exhaust

I can’t believe sans-cat that the exhaust would sound raspy like that with the stock resonator and muffler still in place. It’s sounds more like something is loose in the 2700~3000 rpm frequency range. This is why I thought it may be the flex piping that I used. I will have to research this...
