    Just a small update :)

Wow! Beautiful job! This really has inspired me to do this on mine, never realized a retrofit could be so simple.

    black mirrors on silver honda?

The base models have the black trim (including mirrors). I agree with the post above. Not sure why you'd want the black plastic stuff over color matched.

    have exterior headlights on

Figured I'd post a shot of my cutoff with these kind of bulbs in my stock 97 headlights. They dip on the left for traffic and tilt up on the right for road signs etc... Nothing spectacular (especially compared to a proper retrofit), but WAY better than most kids running HID kits out there...

    have exterior headlights on

They're not really that new to be honest. The price on them has just come way down in the past year or two. I paid around $200 for my kit with these bulbs and Hella ballasts 3 or 4 years ago. The same can be had for half that much (or even less) these days. I definitely recommend them...

    have exterior headlights on

    1) :word: 2) :word: 3) Not :word: lol. There is a type of HID bulb for high/low applications that uses a shield and magnetic actuation to aim light accordingly. The shield basically opens up when you pull your highs to allow more light into the reflector. The bulb to look for is 9003...

    What do y'all think?

Car looks great in that color. I think it would look a lot cleaner with some 16 inch silver (machined or painted) wheels though.

    cloudy headlite lens

I guess it depends on how bad your headlights were to begin with. I used Plast-X on mine and it worked great. A little yellowing does come back after 2 or 3 months, but nothing that can't be taken out with another light buff. I find that waxing the plastic lenses after cleaning them helps...

    Weak Headlights

That recall seems to be for complete headlight failure, not dim lights. It's possible your alternator and battery are not providing sufficient power to the electrical components in the car. I'd recommend having your battery/alternator and the rest of the electrical system checked.

    Weak Headlights

What bulbs did you put in? And are the headlights hazy or cloudy from the outside? Sometimes a good polish and buff is all you need. Also, have you aimed the low-beams properly?

    Supercharged Milano Red EP3 content;

Super clean! Great photos too, what cam do you shoot with? Edit: Just added you on flickr and I see that you're a Nikon guy. Right on! I used to shoot with a D60 and recently upgraded to a D7000. Nice shots!

    Engine Bay Suggestions/Ideas

That's crazy! Hard to believe its the same engine bay!

    HID noob

Neither size they have listed will fit the OP's car. 96-98 (maybe -00) Civics take 9003/H4 bulbs. The type of HID bulbs to look for are 9003/H4-3 (the bixenon ones).

    HID noob

This is what you can expect with the bixenon DDM setup in stock 96-98 reflectors. Here's a quick shot of the cutoff I have with my 35w 6000k DDM high/low bulbs in stock housings. Both dip on the left for oncoming traffic, but slant upwards on the right to light up signs and whatnot. Not once...

    HID noob

After 100 to 200 hours, ALL bulbs start to color shift to a higher kelvin and may or may not become less bright. Keep in mind that brightness doesn't necessarily equal color. You can read the entire write up here. it's actually quite interesting...

    HID noob

35w is all you'll ever need. The color temp (k) has nothing to with brightness. 6000k is a nice balance of color and usable light output. Anything more is going to be too blue and will actually hinder your visibility at night and in the rain (not to mention 8000k and up looks way too...

    First Civic, Suggestions?

Welcome to the auto DX club! Haha. Not bad so far. I'd definitely take care of that rust first and foremost. Then I'd focus on cleaning up those headlights and cleaning your engine bay. Some engine cleaner should do the trick. Oh, and ditch that chrome exhaust tip thing (or at least adjust...

    Farm Implement paint?

I've never been a fan of matte/flat paint to be honest. But regardless of my opinion, the quality of the paint here doesn't look bad at all. Nice job OP!

    JDM EM1 Red "H" Logo?

I bought my red emblems from jdmgoodie.com. Decent price, fast shipping, genuine parts. They have some other cool stuff too. Here's the link for the badge you'd need (a little cheaper than that first link): http://www.jdmgoodie.com/category_s/4.htm
