16.1102 or 16.001 ES bushings

Hello everybody,

Can anybody shed some light on this? I've been researching this topic on multiple forums for hours and seems as I can't find the answer.

I have a 93 Del Sol SOHC VTEC (D16Z6), I purchased ES 16.1102G (non-vtec) and it did not fit, I spent hours trying to push in the bushing to no avail. Other forums claim the bushing slides right in without issues, this isn't happening for me.

I went onto Energy Suspension's website and it shows 2 part numbers;

16.1102 (non-vtec)
16.1101 (vtec)

Being that I have a VTEC D16Z6 engine I'm guessing I need 16.1101 (vtec) since 16.1102 (non vtec) isn't working for me.

Is this correct?

If you have a Vtec engine, the non-Vtec bushings don't fit, but there are also bushings for Vtec engines... wouldn't it have just made more sense to buy the correct ones in the first place?

I've been reading conflicting stories. I heard that if it's an S or Si I needed to purchase 16.1102 (non VTEC) and if I have VTEC (B16) purchase 16.001(VTEC).
