1991 civic LX swap and auto to manuel conversion

Let me start off by saying I am new to this and do not know much about cars. I have a 1991 civic LX which I bought for $700 running. Has dents throughout the car and needs a new paint job as well as one of the corner lights. I don't know if this is important to the situation but I believe the car was stolen previously which is why it has a salvaged title. The car gives me problems such as it won't turn on at times and idles at times too. So I was thinking of either getting rid of the car or buying a whole new engine for it and converting it to manuel I want to get a b20 in it but I am not sure if it is worth it? Any suggestions will help and remember I don't know much about cars so give me a break hahaha thanks!

I wouldn't swap a motor and attempt a manual conversion with little knowledge of automobiles.

Can you elaborate on the problems you're having? Maybe you can make your car reliable again.
