2001 Honda Civic ex Idle serg and lights flickering

I just bought a 2001 Honda Civic Ex. My lights flicker while I am driving. the dash lights as well as every light in the car flicker/pulsate. when the motor is off it doesn't do it. I just had the alternator replaced and the batter is good. any suggestions on how to fix this problem?

Sounds like a bad alternator installation or a bad out of the box alternator.

i had the alternator checked at auto zone, the put it on their little machine and it passed all their little tests..

Bench or in car test? Was the problem occurring when they tested it? If not, it would of course seem to be fine.
