2nd Gear pops out while im driving (Need Help)

Hey Guys, I have 2000 civic hatch, 150i. This has been happening for a while now, whilst driving on 2nd gear, it occassionally pops out ,whilst being in 2nd gear for awhile, example when in traffic etc. This has happened before to me last year but it came right on its own ... Any idea what could be the problem? advice would be much appreciated. Many Thanks

when it pops out, it grinds, and sometimes it makes a loud noise and shudders.

Can you rebuild a transmission? If not, start shopping for a replacement.

as in buy a new gearbox ?

Doesn't have to be new. It could be used, but working.

Sounds like your second gear synchros are worn. Time for a rebuild / replacement.
