91 civic shuts off while driving

I have a 91 civic hatchback 1.5 and randomly while driving it shuts off and then take a couple trys to start I heard it might be distributor but I don't wanna waste my money on something that might not be the proble
Can anyone help me please

When the engine won't restart, does the fuel pump prime? Is there spark at all 4 plugs?

Do you still have power, meaning your electronics, radio, dash lights, etc?

I'm thinking this sounds like the common main relay problem.

Yea all the lights work so u think it wouldn't be the distrubitor

Do you want people to guess what might be wrong or do you want to do a little troubleshooting and pinpoint the problem? You can guess all by yourself if your strategy is to replace parts at random.

Have you actually tried troubleshooting anything?
You never answered about the fuel pump or if you are getting spark to the plugs.
