Advance Timing

When i got my motor swap done (replaced stock d16) i have a y7 block with a y8 head and the guy that did my car told me since i have different pistons i was able to advance my timing 2 degrees....is this something that would be worth doing and would it do anything performance wise....not trying to sound stupid...thanks for the help guys

umm no...not if your still running y7 pistons still...y7 and y8 are same bore(75mm) and stroke(90mm) theres not much of a diffrence at all, you just have vtec now!

advance it on the dizzy....you can advance it as much as you want, it just changes the way your car sounds and can change your high rpm power
