Whatever floats your boat, just dont go with ebay s**t, the filters arent very good. Get a password jdm intake. As far as cold air, never ever get one, unless you wanna suck up water and sieze your engine.

OP- short ram is supposed to offer a little more throttle response and high end power (what little power it produces), while a cold ait intake is supposed to offer low end torque (again, little if any on a civic) as well as power throughout the powerband. Either way.... DO BUY YOUR INTAKE FROM EBAY!!! thats right, buy the ebay intake, replace the filter with a k&n, or aem, then sell the ebay filter to one of your ricer friends. use the 100+ dollars you saved for gas or porn or weed

I thought CAIs offered hp up top and SRIs offered more lower in the powerband? If it's for a dseries, neither will make huge gains anywhere.

As far as getting water in your intake, it could happen and if I lived in Seattle or somewhere with lots of rain,I wouldn't get a CAI.

Assuming u have a single-v, u should get an ebay short ram slap a quality filter on it, and call it a day. The next day create an enclosure around the filter and the provide it with access to cold air. I made a box out of tin shingles around my filter, lined it with heat insulation then added foam to aid in sealing the box to the hood. It pulls good and hard through that 3in hole by the passenger headlight. Imagine a wall running from the passenger shock tower to the overflow tank for the radiator. Now make a hole in that wall to run your shortram through. Put your airfilter on that shortram and then seal off the gaps with foam. Viola your very own cold air intake.
